Repair Information
Frame repairs can usually be completed while you wait.

We now have the capability to solder most Titanium frames!

Frame soldering (including titanium) is typically $25 (occasionally slightly higher). We can ship your repaired frame to you for $5 if you do not live nearby.

Replacement nose pads and temple tips are available at very reasonable prices.

Designer Frames
We carry a wide variety of designer frames including Penguin, Helium, Menizzi, O.G.I., Humphrey's, Adidas, Vera Wang, Lucky Brand, Silhouette, Prodesign, Aspex, Seraphin, and many others. Contact Lenses
We match or beat the price of most online contact lens suppliers.
Modern Optics is not controlled by VSP insurance so we are able to carry a large variety of frames including ASPEX frames which include a magnetic sunclip.

VISION TIP OF THE MONTH
Studies show that as high as 90% of people who work with computers more than three hours a day suffer from some type of eye trouble commonly known as computer vision syndrome. Here are some tips to minimize your discomfort.

A poorly located monitor causes awkward body positions - a viewing distance of 20-28 inches is most common. If your viewing distance is outside this range, it may indicate a visual problem or it my contribute to posture related symptoms. Since the eyes work best with a slight downward gaze, the monitor center should be 4-9 inches below the eyes and positioned directly in front of you.

Bright lights or brightly colored objects in your peripheral vision can be distracting and uncomfortable on the eyes. Try to eliminate brightness and glare in your field of vision to make your monitor viewing more comfortable.

Vision Insurance Information
Modern Optics is not owned by a doctor and subsequently are not allowed to participate with VSP insurance. However, many of our patients still choose to come to Modern Optics for their eyecare and eyewear needs. In addition to your discount received after purchasing Modern Optics' Vision Benefit Card, VSP and other insurances will contribute toward
out-of-network claims and we are happy to complete the necessary forms.
