Repair Information
Frame repairs can usually be completed while you wait.

We now have the capability to solder most Titanium frames!

Frame soldering (including titanium) is typically $25 (occasionally slightly higher). We can ship your repaired frame to you for $5 if you do not live nearby.

Replacement nose pads and temple tips are available at very reasonable prices.

Designer Frames
We carry a wide variety of designer frames including Penguin, Helium, Menizzi, O.G.I., Humphrey's, Adidas, Vera Wang, Lucky Brand, Silhouette, Prodesign, Aspex, Seraphin, and many others. Contact Lenses
We match or beat the price of most online contact lens suppliers.
Modern Optics is not controlled by VSP insurance so we are able to carry a large variety of frames including ASPEX frames which include a magnetic sunclip.

VISION TIP OF THE MONTH
About 1 of ever 12 boys is affected by some form of color vision deficiency (also - incorrectly - called color blindness). Only 0.5% of girls have any color deficiency, according the the American Optometric Association. It affects males more than females because of a genetic quirk. Color vision problems can affect learning and reading development; children may feel embarrassed that they can't see certain colors, leading to problems with classroom participation.

Testing only takes a few minutes in an optometrist's office. The most common tests use plates covered in dots that have numbers embedded in different colors. (Example below-there is a 74 embedded in the dots)

Color vision deficiency can't be cured but it can be managed very effectively.

Vision Insurance Information
Modern Optics is not owned by a doctor and subsequently are not allowed to participate with VSP insurance. However, many of our patients still choose to come to Modern Optics for their eyecare and eyewear needs. In addition to your discount received after purchasing Modern Optics' Vision Benefit Card, VSP and other insurances will contribute toward
out-of-network claims and we are happy to complete the necessary forms.
